Why drive it instead of taking the free shuttle

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park runs a free shuttle from downtown, and it's honest transport. But it runs on fixed rounds, your group clocks the whole route at the end when you're tired, and the day's pacing belongs to the shuttle's schedule rather than yours. In your own car:

• You arrive at opening — which halves the queue at the bridge no matter the month.
• You can reorder the day around the Lumberjack Show times or the weather.
• Your cabin becomes base camp between parks — snacks, jackets, the stroller that doesn't need to come along for the mountain.

The shuttle math works for solo travelers and downtown car-dodgers; for a couple, a family, or anyone with an itinerary, the car wins on almost every line.

Stop 1: Capilano Suspension Bridge Park — go at opening

The plan works so much better at 9 in the morning: the 137-metre suspension bridge, 70 metres up over Capilano Canyon, is a different experience without a crowd accordion behind you. After that, the park's depth takes over:

• Treetops Adventure — seven smaller bridges strung high through the canopy, up to ~34 metres over the forest floor.
• Cliffwalk — the cantilevered granite-cliff walkway; do it before the crowds if heights are a maybe.
• Kia'palano and the Story Centre for the cultural and historical layer, plus the Cap Kids scavenger hunt for the small ones.

• Capilano Road peaks late morning on weekends as everyone converges — the opening-arrival plan solves it from the driving side, and the queue-side is solved the same way.
• Check the daily schedules before you commit the order: the Lumberjack show times are weather-dependent and Capilano's evening events shift seasonally. Ten minutes of checking beats a wasted mountain trip up.

Can you really do both parks in one day?

Comfortably, if Capilano comes first and Grouse provides the afternoon-to-evening finale. Reversing the order works too, but the 4 PM Lumberjack slot makes the current order the default winner.

What if it rains?
